SUMMARY: Employer seeking 10 temporary General Farm workers to perform a variety of farm duties in the geographical area of Grand Forks County, ND.
ALL QUALIFIED DOMESTIC WORKERS (U.S. Citizens, Legal Permanent Residents, and other residents with work authorization) must be given preference when application is received before 10/16/2025 by the employer for these vacancies. If qualified domestic workers are not found, the employer may seek to import FOREIGN workers from abroad.
DETAILED JOB DUTIES: Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, and mowers. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on farm and to storage facilities. Job also requires loading seed into planters; properly mixing chemicals; loading chemicals into sprayers; changing combine cutting heads; rouging fields and using hand tools to remove undesirable plant varieties, trash, and other objects from fields; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; and regularly servicing equipment. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy skills are required. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, or walking.
DAYS/HOURS:
Days: Contract period is 8/1/2025 to 12/31/2025
Hours: 10 hours per day Monday through Saturday for a total of 60 hours per week. Employer guarantees to offer employment for a minimum of ¾ of the workdays of the total specified period, beginning with the first workday after worker's arrival at the place of employment and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract unless there is an "Act of God" termination. Employee may be requested, but not required, to work more than 8 hours per day or on the Sabbath or Federal holidays. Employer will provide free housing to those workers living beyond the commuting distance. Employer will provide necessary tools/equipment at no cost.
Pay: Employees are guaranteed to earn at least $19.21/hour.
