POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Senior Assembler at New Flyer, you will be an integral part of our assembly team, contributing to the production of high-quality transit buses. You will leverage your expertise to perform advanced assembly tasks, mentor junior team members, and actively participate in ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Your commitment to excellence will help us deliver unparalleled transportation solutions to our clients.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

* Perform assembly of complex bus components using hand tools and other equipment while adhering to all safety and quality protocols.
* Troubleshoot and resolve assembly problems, collaborating with other teams to ensure efficiency and product integrity.
* Inspect work for adherence to quality standards, validating own work and assisting in area validation.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly cared for.
* Mentor and train junior assemblers, providing guidance and fostering skill development.
* Collaborate with leadership to suggest improvements in assembly processes, equipment, and tooling.
* Utilize blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately (including a strong understanding of ECN and EAD processes).
* Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining focus on quality and efficiency.
* Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and initiative.

Additional Information

* Proven experience as an assembler or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment * Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with familiarity in working with tools and equipment * Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly instructions * Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team * Experience in mentoring or training others considered an asset * Problem-solving skills and attention to detail * Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
