Education: Master's degree in Education or Curriculum and Instruction preferred or equivalent years of experience.

Position Summary:
Grand Forks Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated individual to execute the role of Secondary Curriculum Coordinator. This position provides leadership and support in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional practices for grades 6-12 across all middle and high schools within the district. This position, based at the District Office, will work collaboratively with administrators, instructional coaches, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure a rigorous, relevant, and engaging educational experience for all secondary students. The Secondary Curriculum Coordinator will play a vital role in fostering continuous improvement in teaching and learning, aligned with district goals, state standards, and best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Development and Implementation:
* Lead and facilitate the development, review, and revision of secondary curriculum across all subject areas.
* Ensure curriculum alignment with North Dakota State Standards, district goals, and research-based best practices.
* Support the implementation of effective instructional strategies and resources.
* Collaborate with teachers and curriculum teams to create and refine instructional materials, assessments, and pacing guides.
* Provide guidance and support to schools in the implementation of new curriculum initiatives.
* Instructional Leadership and Support:
* Serve as a resource and point of contact for secondary administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers regarding curriculum and instruction.
* Provide professional development opportunities for secondary teachers on curriculum, instruction, assessment, and other relevant topics.
* Stay current on educational research, trends, and best practices in secondary education.
* Facilitate collaboration and communication among secondary teachers across different schools.
* Observe classrooms and provide feedback to teachers and administrators on instructional practices, as needed.
* Assessment and Evaluation:
* Support the development and implementation of formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and inform instructional decisions in collaboration with other district coordinators.
* Analyze student achievement data to identify areas for improvement and guide curriculum and instructional adjustments in collaboration with other district coordinators.
* Assist schools in using assessment data to improve instructional practices and student outcomes in collaboration with other district coordinators.
* Ensure alignment of assessments with curriculum and state standards in collaboration with other district coordinators.
* Collaboration and Communication:
* Collaborate effectively with building administrators, teachers, support staff, and parents.
* Serve on district-level committees related to curriculum and instruction.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding curriculum initiatives, resources, and updates.
* Foster positive working relationships with all members of the school community.
* Resource Management:
* Assist in the selection and evaluation of instructional materials and resources.
* Manage curriculum budgets effectively.
* Explore and recommend innovative educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
* Other Duties:
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.
Terms of Employment: 188 days contract plus 30 extra days and an additional stipend.
Evaluation: By the Chief Academic Officer at least twice each year in the first three years of service (December 15 & April 15), and at least once each year thereafter (April 15).
