What You’ll Take Ownership Of:
* Managing new and existing merchandise programs for various categories and vendors
* Negotiating, analyzing industry trends, planning and purchasing goods for resale at Acme Tools retail locations and website
* Analyzing past buying trends, sales records, prices, and quality to optimize sales, inventory turns, cost controls, and profit
* Assuming responsibility for purchasing product lines, administering inventory control, ensuring proper stock level, re-buying of product lines, and ensuring acceptable rates of product turnover
* Selecting, ordering, and authorizing payment for merchandise according to contractual agreements
* Negotiating prices and delivery conditions and making purchases of items in relation to the best purchase price, discount, terms, co-op advertising, rebates and delivery to maximize program potential
* Securing promotional events and improving effectiveness and engagement of events; assisting Marketing and eCommerce departments with promotional opportunities of products
* Selecting appropriate merchandise for the specific categories assigned and providing recommendations to improve the category, maximize the potential for increased sales and/or profitability
* Continuously acquiring and retaining product knowledge through research of items and product lines
* Staying up to date on industry trends and constantly evolving purchase plans to reflect current buying trends
* Taking on other related duties as assigned
Additional Information
Need-To-Haves: * Bachelor’s Degree in business field, supply chain management, or equivalent experience * 2+ years of prior experience working with purchasing and inventory control practices * Excellent relationship-building and communication skills * Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft office suite. * Ability to write reports and business correspondence, strong written and verbal communication, organization, and presentation skills * Knowledge of calculating figures and amounts such as profit margins, discounts, interest, inventory turns, and percentages * Energetic self-starter with the ability to work autonomously, as well as a part of a team environment * Ability to keep a high degree of confidentiality of all departmental and Company information Prefer-To-Haves: * Knowledge of retail sales and eCommerce industries * Tool and Equipment knowledge * 5+ years of prior experience working with purchasing and inventory control practices *Employment offers are contingent on drug-screen and background check.
