Bakery Support Coordinator
The Bakery Support Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting and managing employees in their work at the bakery. The Bakery Support Coordinator fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment, helping all team members thrive and achieve personal and professional growth within the bakery setting.

Essential Responsibilities
Support for Employees
Provide on-the-job support to employees by assisting them in developing job skills, understanding tasks, and completing duties.
Offer guidance and encouragement to promote independence, confidence, and skill-building.
Serve as a point of contact for questions or concerns and offer feedback to ensure a positive and productive work environment

Program Management and Coordination
Coordinate and schedule shifts, ensuring adequate coverage and alignment with the bakery’s production needs.
Track progress and assess the effectiveness of support strategies, adjusting as needed to meet individual and program goals.

Training and Development
Provide hands-on training to individuals, teaching them skills related to baking, food safety, customer service, and other bakery tasks.
Develop training materials and workshops that enhance the skills of supported individuals and increase their confidence in the workplace.
Facilitate learning opportunities in both group and one-on-one settings, promoting teamwork and peer support.

Communication and Collaboration
Collaborate with bakery staff and managers to ensure that each employee is supported effectively in their roles.
Act as a liaison between bakery management and employees, addressing any concerns or accommodations needed to maintain a positive work environment.

Compliance
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and health standards.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Additional Information

Basic Qualifications: The Bakery Support Coordinator must be at least 18 years of age. The Bakery Support Coordinator must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The Bakery Support Coordinator must pass a DHI Background Check in line with DHI policy and DHS standards (see Background Checks policy for most current guidelines). The Bakery Support Coordinator must have previous experience working in developmental disability, or a mental health-related setting. The Bakery Support Coordinator must have previous experience in a supervisor or leadership position.
