Maintenance Technician III
Job Description Summary
Working under limited supervision the Maintenance Technician III, (ST3) is responsible for supporting the overall operation and appearance of the facility utilizing trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and roofing. The ST3 must be meticulous, work with a sense of urgency, and communicate effectively. This position will work closely with onsite management to ensure all projects, documentation, and facilities are kept current and available.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Must be able to work in a collaborative / safety conscious environment. "Safety First." Promote a safe work environment throughout the facility and complete all safety training on time.
- Utilizes an enhanced skillset to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights), and periodic testing of the equipment. These systems include but are not limited to; air handling units (including both rooftop and built-up units), switchgear, PDU's, electric panels, air compressors, generators, pumps, plumbing system components, lighting, and electrical systems,
- Function as site point of contact as needed in the absence of the Senior Maintenance Technician.
- Perform weekly and monthly inspections of the facility, grounds, and equipment to include fire life safety, eye wash stations, AED, exit signs.
- Manages assigned work orders, recording time and materials needed to complete repairs. requests necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks through proper channels. Assists in inventory control.
- Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Notifies management of all impacting events in a timely manner.
- Maintain maintenance logs and records as required.
- Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that supports client operations. Some overtime and on-call may be required.
- Must be familiar with testing equipment such as power meters to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
- As required and assigned clean equipment, restrooms, floors, walls, and landscape.
- Maintain, repair, and replace foamboard in data center areas as required and requested to support client initiatives and production.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience working with electrical distribution, wiring, transformers, and switchgears,
- 2-3 years of experience working with plumbing/pipefitting, carpentry work, and blueprint reading
- Must hold a valid state driver's license with a clean driving record, pass a criminal background check, and pass a drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
- Previous leadership experience
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to dust, hot(summertime) and cold(wintertime) conditions, and loud noises
- Must have ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, and frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment.
- Ability to perform tasks wearing the appropriate or required PPE, which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
- Must be able to work at heights and on scissor lifts, boom lifts.
