Salary/Position Classification
* $55,000+ annual, Exempt
* This position will work onsite the Grand Forks, ND campus.
Purpose of Position

Design, specify, order, install, and maintain classroom, video production studio, and broadcast systems and equipment. Provide audio/visual technical support and assistance to UND Aerospace personnel. Operate and maintain the Aerospace Network satellite uplink facility. Other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities
* System Design & Installation:
* Stay current in the latest broadcast engineering and audio/visual techniques and technologies.
* Design systems for use in the production studio, satellite uplink system, and classrooms.
* Analyze engineering issues, review equipment specifications, and make purchase decisions.
* Evaluate existing systems and design improvements to increase efficiency or simplify their use.
* Install audio/video equipment in classrooms and production studios in a professional and neat manner.
* Install upgrades as needed, adapting equipment as necessary to integrate effectively into the existing system. - (50%)

* System Operation & Maintenance:
* Operate and supervise the operation of all studio, master control, and satellite uplink equipment.
* Assist students with the operation of studio equipment.
* Maintain audio/video equipment in the classrooms and production studios.
* Maintain computer systems, media libraries, and backup systems.
* Assist the Help Desk as necessary with more complicated systems.
* Maintain and update satellite uplink equipment, procuring satellite space for uplinks as needed. - (45%)

* Documentation:
* Document all system changes and additions.
* Keep accurate maintenance records of all equipment.
* Keep maintenance and operation logs of satellite uplink equipment.
* Maintain line drawings of audio/visual cable and equipment installations and label cabling appropriately. - (5%)

Additional Information

Required Competencies * Ability to work independently. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization/coordination skills. Minimum Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in broadcast engineering, audio visual system engineering, electronics, or related field. * Two years of experience in electronics, computers, broadcast engineering, and communications. * FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License. * Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with television cameras, production switchers, effects and graphics systems, non-linear edit platforms, and computer networks. * Experience with fiber optics. * Experience with satellite uplinks.
