Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Systems Programmer/Technician - Grand Forks, ND

We are seeking a talented I&C Systems Programmer/Technician to work closely with Project Engineers, clients, and contractors to develop and implement outstanding Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system solutions that exceed client needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

    • Assist engineers with programming, start-up, and long-term service and support of water/wastewater facilities and various other industrial facilities; systems include Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based controls, Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), radio and cellular telemetry, and networking
    • Troubleshoot process instrumentation and control system components
    • Troubleshoot electrical and control issues by reading control wiring schematics, and interpreting and programming PLC logic
    • Maintain and modify existing control systems by performing component replacement and upgrades
    • Travel to project sites for service, support, and startup
    • Act as first tier of support for clients experiencing issues
    • Must be able to travel daily or on short notice, in some cases overnight stays are required
    • Quickly identify and solve control system issues remotely
    • Maintain system documentation
    • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and other employees
    • Conduct both Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing of control systems

Basic Requirements

    • Associate degree in Industrial or Electronics Technology, Automation Controls, or similar field.
    • 1-3 years relatable experience.
    • Experience with programming, start-up, commissioning, and service of complex instrumentation and control systems.
    • Experience with cellular and radio telemetry, as well as networking.
    • Experience with device integration using industry standard equipment (such as Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, GE, AVEVA, Ignition, etc.).
    • Basic computer networking skills
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Problem-solving skills
    • Extreme client service

Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or similar field.
    • 3+ years relatable experience.
    • Proficient with programming, start-up, commissioning, and service of complex instrumentation and control systems.
    • Proficient with cellular and radio telemetry, as well as networking.
    • Proficient with device integration using industry standard equipment (such as Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, GE, AVEVA, Ignition, etc.).
