Auditor I

As an Auditor I at Development Homes, Inc. (DHI), you will play a vital role in ensuring our organization's financial integrity and operational efficiency. Your primary responsibility is to conduct audits and manage gaming revenue, supporting DHI's mission to empower individuals and foster community connections.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Gaming Count Duties:

* Accurately count and verify all revenue collected from DHI gaming site locations within established timeframes.
* Review and sort money, verify records, and complete required paperwork.
* Make daily deposits of collected revenue.
* Work as part of a two-person team to ensure accuracy and compliance in counting and verifying gaming-related funds.
* Verify that the numbers match the paperwork for pull-tab games with dispersed winners.

2. Audit and Compliance:

* Analyze data for deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, fraud, or non-compliance with laws and regulations.
* Maintain meticulous records for all accounting and gaming activities in accordance with Chapter 99-01.3.
* Communicate regularly with managers about rep-payee accounts and assist with social security waivers as needed.

3. Ongoing Duties:

* Perform jar audits and complete rep-payee reports as necessary.
* Reconcile rep-payee checkbooks and bank accounts monthly.
* Enter data into accounting software, attach bills and receipts, and conduct monthly audits of checkbooks and petty cash.
* Notify relevant parties about asset balances and provide quarterly financial information to social workers.

4. Quarterly and Annual Duties:

* Conduct physical cash counts and reconcile inventory records for gaming operations quarterly.
* Ensure proper use of forms and compliance with internal controls.
* Perform routine internal control audits.

5. Travel:

* Frequent travel is required, including attending training and running errands for the organization. Travel between gaming sites may also be necessary.

6. Work Environment:

* Primarily operates in a professional office environment with occasional work in bar settings.
* Routine use of standard office equipment and interaction with a diverse group of people.

7. Physical Demands:

* Largely a sedentary role with occasional physical exertion.
* Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., boxes of paper and supplies).

8. Additional Duties:

* Assist with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

As an Auditor at Development Homes, Inc., your attention to detail, ethical decision-making, and commitment to ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency will contribute to our mission of promoting positive personal outcomes and community connections.

Required Skills and Experience:

* The Auditor I must be at least 18 years of age.
* The Auditor I must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
* The Auditor I must pass a DHI Background Check in line with DHI, the AG’s Office, and DHS standards (see Background Checks policy for most current guidelines).
* The Auditor I must possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or have an equivalent of experience and education.

Compensation and Benefits:

Auditor I: The starting hourly wage for this position is $24.05/hr.
