As an IT Systems Senior Technician, you will be responsible for performing computer hardware and software moves, add-ons, changes, troubleshooting for individual users, install, repair, and provide preventative maintenance of personal computer and related systems. Train and provide technical assistance to users on hardware and software applications. Manages and maintains the maintenance of video security systems, computer security and network integrity. Starting Salary Range: $56,313.62 annually (DOE) with excellent benefits (benefit information below).

Status and Hours: Full-time, regular position (based on 40 hours per week), benefit eligible. There might be a variation to work hours and days to support the department and County needs.

Minimum Qualifications for consideration: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education: An Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in computer sciences, engineering, or related field.

Experience: Three (3) or more years of related technology experience. Network knowledge and experience highly preferred.

Licenses, Certificates, and Registrations: Maintain a valid driver’s license. A+ core and OS, computer maintenance, networking, and basic troubleshooting.

Who we are looking for: The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, detail orientated, who has knowledge of Local area network, hardware, and software capabilities and installation techniques. Windows operating systems, common software applications, and computer hardware equipment. Common operating procedures, testing methodologies, computer networking, and data processing and computer operations. Selection and installation of personal computer and network hardware and software. Documentation and user instruction methods and techniques.

With the skills in Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network hardware and software. Using and instructing others in the use of computer hardware and software. Troubleshooting, investigating, and correcting computer hardware and software problems. Maintaining accurate records of work performed. Preparing clear and concise documentation, user instructions, reports, correspondence, and other written materials. Working without close supervision in standard work situations. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work. Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines. Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.

Able to Handle confidential and data privacy issues appropriately. Solve problems and determine appropriate course of action. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government officials, co-workers, and public, from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. Handle varying and often busy, stressful times.
