Ruth Meiers Adolescent Center (RMAC) – Grand Forks – Residential Direct Care Associate - Youth

This is an ongoing temporary position.

Shift Hours: 2pm to 12am, 5pm to 10pm. Part-time to full-time hours available, must work at least 8 hours a week. Shifts may include weekends and holidays. Preference given to applicants who can work 2pm to 12am.

Base pay will be determined upon hire and will fall within a range of $19-$24 per hour. On a temporary basis, hourly rate is $26.25 per hour. Temporary increase in effect for an undetermined amount of time.

As a Direct Care Associate III working with youth in a residential setting, you will provide positive mentoring and guidance to young people impacted by behavioral health disorders. You will serve as a role model, exhibiting a positive and respectful approach in all interactions. You will teach daily living activities, including household tasks, hygiene task, effective communication, and socialization with the goal of helping those you serve increase their independence.

An important part of this position is assisting the youth to articulate their goals and what is important for them. You will teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies to assist the youth in reaching their goals.

Additional Information

To be considered for the DCA III position, applicants must be 21 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED; and two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations. If unable to find candidate with preferred experience, will consider filling this position as: * Direct Care Associate II, which requires a high school diploma or GED and (CNA Training - depending on location). This position requires a valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
