Position Vacancy for 2025-2026 School Year

Full-time School Psychologist Intern. Completion of a successful internship may lead to employment as a contracted School Psychologist in our school district.

Education:

1. Enrolled in a school psychologist program (attach current unofficial transcript to application)
2. Applicant must have a degree in education or related field.

School Psychologist Intern Role:

* Facilitate the Special Education process at the building level (compliance with Special Education process: evaluations and timelines)
* Support teachers, Learning Specialists, and Speech-Language Pathologists in providing services to students.
* Meet with building level Special Education teams
* Conduct Special Education evaluations
* Consult with Specific Learning Disability evaluations, especially regarding Response to Intervention and Patterns of Strength and Weaknesses models.
* Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Support Plans, Plans of Independence and Safety Plans.
* Consult regarding behavior for children in General Education and Special Education classes
* Consult on Response to Intervention/Social Skills Training/Pre-referral processes.
* Consult with school wide multi-tiered behavioral supports (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports).
* Consult regarding behavior and academics.
* Provide Risk and Threat assessments as needed.
* Work with General Education teachers to develop 504 plans.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.

Occasionally may need to lift up to fifty (50); reaching, standing, walking, carrying, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and/or crawling within the classroom.

The employee may encounter situations where students are physically aggressive and/or verbally abusive. This may require physical interaction (using strategies acquired through de-escalation and restraint training) between the employee and student. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be exposed to infection at a greater risk than the average person. May be directly responsible for the safety, well-being and/or output of students.

Terms of Employment: 8 hours/day M-F, Nine (9) months, academic school year
