  • JOB SUMMARY

    The Job Coach will oversee the training of the client and provide support during employment activities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability for carrying out their individual employment plans. Working under the direction of the Employment Services Program Coordinator, this position will ensure that all the supports necessary for the client (transportation, attire, assisted technology (AT), job training, professional social skills, etc.) are in place. The Job Coach facilitates the development of natural supports in each work environment and when appropriate, trains individuals in the use of AT. This position works within the guidelines of AC policies/procedures, individual employer’s policies/procedures, and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (required knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • The Job Coach must be able to complete the Anne Carlsen Center's training program according to the AC policies and procedures; must be able to learn and perform personal cares, education, and therapeutic programs, and have the ability to learn and comprehend medical terminology. The incumbent should have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, be able to follow verbal and written instructions, and problem solve effectively with clients, staff, family members, and community businesses.

  • The Job Coach must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, and be tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts. Must be able to adapt to rapid change and able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations.

  • Ideal candidate should understand and have a basic working knowledge of computers or be willing to learn in order to assist clients as well as to monitor and access AC attendance system.

  • Required to provide proof of ownership/registration prior to personal vehicle being approved for business use. Drivers must provide and maintain current proof of insurance (e.g. insurance card, policy declarations sheet, etc) with minimum limits as follows: $100,000 per person, $300,000 CSL; Medical Pay: $5,000; Uninsured Motorist Coverage.

  • The Job Coach must have a flexible schedule that can meet the demands of the employed individual’s work hours. Work hours will include some evening and weekend shifts, and are subject to change.
